Meet Our October ‘21 Woman Crush: Madison Prince

Like most of my Woman Crushes, Madison and I met during our retail days at Bloomingdales. She has such a calm and healing energy that always makes me feel incredibly comfortable in her presence. She is a multi-hyphenated talent currently working as an Actor, Writer and a founding member of the United Stages Collective, an Aboriginal Australian led movement. She is doing some amazing things during her single season for the betterment of herself and her culture.

Tell us About Yourself

My name is Madison Prince. I am an actor, writer and creative, originally from Broome in remote Western Australia. I now live in Los Angeles in what has become my sixth year residing in the USA as a dual citizen. Currently, I am co-writing my first screenplay for a feature film.

What do you feel your single season has taught you?

Being single - especially during these fundamental years of growth in my twenties - has allowed me the opportunity to truly get to know myself. I have used this time to figure out what my own interests are, to act on them, to learn what makes me tick and what brings me joy. This season has been a journey of self discovery.

What do you think is a common misconception about being Single and how are you changing the narrative?

Single women who are 25 and over tend to receive a lot of judgement for our relationship status and relating personal choices. There is nothing wrong with us for being discerning. Being selective with who you share your time with is an under-utilized quality. I wish for all women to be comfortable with being alone, despite criticism or societal pressures. I know that I am worthy of a relationship, but a relationship does not define my self worth.

What are ways you combat loneliness in the season?

I combat loneliness by surrounding myself with a supportive network of like-minded people. I am never without love. The love of family and friends is enough. Having a “glass half full” approach and a mindset of abundance has changed the course of my life for the better. Loneliness is healing if you make it so.

How do you practice Self love?

I practice self love by nurturing my dreams. By actively fulfilling my goals. By treating my body kindly - nourishing it with a plant based diet. By tending to my inner child and healing from within. For the things that I cannot change: I practice self-acceptance and love myself anyway.

What words of wisdom do you wish to share with other Single Women?

Never settle. Never lose your own sense of self. Never tie your identity to a significant other. Use every moment to better yourself and build your own legacy. A partner is secondary. You are number one. You are it.
