Meet Our March Woman Crush: Rosana Vares

This month we are recognizing my friend and the incredibly talented, Rosana Vares. Rosana is one of the most hard working individuals I know. She is a makeup artist and business manager by day and is an entrepreneur by night. Over the last couple of years I have seen her grow more into her spiritual side and she has dedicated herself to becoming a healthier version of herself. I am beyond grateful that she allowed us to highlight her and her single journey!

Tell us About Yourself!

Hello my name is Rosana Vares and I am currently a makeup artist in the beauty industry and the proud founder of Secrets of Selene. I am a creative and ambitious person who loves helping people feel beautiful inside and out! I love being able to do so by intertwining my gifts of spiritual healing and transformative makeup. I enjoy hiking and recharging at the beach! When I do have spare time, I enjoy spending it with loved ones or other creative people helps fuel my passions.

What do you feel your single season has taught you?

I love this question! Single season has taught me a lot about myself! What I truly like, what I dislike and areas I would like to grow in! It’s taught me to depend on myself and appreciate my worth as a person, as a woman and most all as a man’s better half. I have become such a good person to myself that I’m confident I will be an invaluable partner to the right man for me.

A constant quest to be the best version of ones self.

What passions are you focused on during this season?

This season I’m fully focused on creativity, self growth, growing my businesses and spending quality time with my loved ones! These past couple of years have been hard on us all, revealing what’s truly important and what requires more of our attention. For me that’s would be creating, consistency, and discipline to achieve the success and results I would like to see.

What do you think is a common misconception about being Single and how are you changing the narrative?

I feel one of the biggest misconceptions about being single especially as a woman, is that it’s not by choice, that it’s a negative thing and that it implies something is wrong or missing in that person. I’m changing the narrative by staying true to myself and deciding who and what is deserving of my time and energy. Since I work in the spiritual realm and healing, keeping my energy clean and focused is super important so that I can provide healing support and clarity to my clients. Choosing the right partner to be with is a huge deal and transfer of energy is real, it will have a huge impact on your life so it’s ok to be picky with who you let in! I’m a daughter, sister, and friend, to many so I do my best to lead by example and advise my fellow Queens to trust their intuition and remind them they deserve a good love that doesn’t require suffering, but growth and compromise instead.

A man is not a necessity, a man is a luxury. Like dessert.

What are ways you combat loneliness in this season?

I think being alone and feeling lonely are two different things. I’m at a place in my life where peace is my priority and negativity can’t exist.

I truly enjoy my me time! Even when I’m in a relationship it helps keep me grounded. Of course I’m human and there are times when I’d prefer to be around a loving environment which can be  difficult since I moved away from all my family a few years ago. In those moments, dinner with friends, a FaceTime/call with loved ones keeps me feeling connected and helps me pour myself back into my passions.

How do you respond to negativity from others about your marital status?

I honestly have stopped caring about other’s opinions because I’m very confident and secure about knowing what’s best for me. Also, Im really in a space of peace right now! I know I’m in a really good place and live a happy and fulfilling life so I would only invite or be open to someone I know could and wants to truly add more value to that.

How do you practice Self love?

I practice self-love by working out, meditating, listening to myself, exploring new ways of enlightenment and healing, prayer, and something that I’ve been recently working on is being more kind and gentle with myself emotionally, because I know we can be our worst self-critic. I practice putting myself first before the needs of others because if I’m not grounded how can I be of use and help to someone else? Boundaries baby! I also like to practice self love by spoiling myself every now and then.

What words of wisdom do you wish to share with other Single Women?

My best advice is never allow anyone especially a man to dictate what you’re worth. What I mean by that is don’t accept every offer, every date, every offer of love that comes your way, If it does not truly resonate for you or line up with what your personal goals are, don’t take it or feel obligated. Also, once someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time and listen to your intuition!  Do not “try to make it work” if it doesn’t! Or if your body feel that something is off 9 times out of 10 you’re right! Vibes and energy never lie!

Always remember are your own magic honey! Stop thinking it’s being created by others!😉
