Meet Our March ‘21 Woman Crush: Tamira Wells
This month we are crushing on the beautiful Tamira Wells! I met Tamira at a networking event and was instantly drawn to her vivacious energy. I later learned that she was the owner and designer of the popular 90's clothing brand, New Heritage. She relaunched the brand to pay homage to her late aunt and uncle and has been booked and busy collaborating with other creatives and have been featured in TV shows such as BET's Boomerang. Tamira is incredibly sweet, supportive and creative and I wanted to highlight all she's doing and how she's enjoying her single season!
Tell us a little bit about yourself
My name is Tamira Wells. I was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. Now residing in Los Angeles for 11yrs. Owner of a 90’s unisex streetwear brand which I relaunched 4yrs ago to pay homage to my late aunt and uncle who were the original founders of the brand.
What are some of the things that you want to accomplish during this season?
I want to continue to better my craft and build my business to scale high. I plan on scaling my business by pushing the brand with creative marketing, television placement , building a creative team, placement in streetwear online boutiques and figuring out online virtual platforms.
There are several things I have been doing: praying, drinking wine, crying, retail therapy even though money is tight due to Covid, listening to podcasts such as: Dreams and Drive Redefining Wealth Chase Purpose not Money, Girl Behind the Hustle, Switch Pivot or Quit and my new favorite Kontent Queens ... All the titles speak for themselves. All of these podcasts have helped me grow and take life notes. There all soooo good . I work a 9-5 and I listen to them throughout the day. The conversations are organic and relative.
How do you practice self love?
Speaking affirmations, taking a long hot shower, using my sex toys, reading a good book, dancing in the mirror naked lol, getting my nails done with my logo on them.
How do you handle stress?
Ways that I handle stress is taking a nap, creating something cool, praying, meditating, screaming. It really depends on the stress level sometimes, if I sleep it off I will wake up refreshed and wanting to create to take my mind off the situation. But I rather create without being stressed.
Staying positive and pray to whatever practice they believe in, being patient and just continue to make yourself better so when that person comes there ready.
