Our July Woman Crush, La’Britney, Wants Us to Stop Settling and Sacrificing Our Needs!
I first met La’Britney at the Single Moms Planet Brunch last year in Culver City. She was a dream in her two-piece tweed fit as she shared her experience as a young single mother. Her dedication to her art and gentle demeanor inspired me to stay focused on my creative journey, and each time we engage in conversation, I am gifted with additional wisdom and a different perspective.
Her GRWM videos not only highlight her makeup skills and showcase her classic style but also educate single women about the importance of never settling, going on solo dates, and self-care.
This month, I am thrilled to feature her as our Woman Crush and to learn more about how she’s living a full and joyful life as a single woman.
Tell us About Yourself!
I’m La’Britney, born and raised in Michigan. I am a singer/songwriter, actress, and Mom boss.
What have your past relationships taught you about yourself?
My past relationships have taught me that true happiness lies within myself, and my partner is there to add to that happiness.
How has your perspective on relationships evolved through your experiences of being single?
I think a lot of relationships take away from a woman’s ability to her fullest self. Most of the time, the woman’s life becomes all about being a wife, cooking, cleaning, and having babies.
Next thing you know, she doesn’t even have a true sense of who she is anymore.
How has your single journey shaped your understanding of happiness and fulfillment?
I am still on my journey, but I have found happiness and fulfillment in my creations and helping others.
What role does community play in your life as a single woman?
Community is very important. Building healthy and strong relationships with like minded individuals that can be a support system is priceless.
What message would you like to share with society about the value of being single?
Take time as a single individual to truly learn yourself. Spend time alone, taking trips, solo dating, and cooking for yourself. Don’t allow your happiness to be dependent upon anyone because that means they can take it away from you.
