Meet Our June ‘21 Woman Crush: Jessica

I met Jessica a while back through a mutual friend and have thought she's was so much fun to be around and incredibly stylish! I soon became obsessed with watching her 88lbs weight loss journey and how she dedicated herself to becoming the best version of herself. It sparked me to challenge myself and do the same. Her workout videos and healthy eating tips have helped me to hold myself accountable and focus on achieving my overall goals. She is truly an inspiration and I love what she is doing to evolve and transform herself.

Tell us a little bit about yourself!

I'm 28 years young living in LA and trying to navigate this thing called LIFE. I take pride in living a simple yet amazing life. I work a 9-5 in e- commerce fashion to pay the bills and during my off time, I love to be active and indulge in nature!

What has your single life taught you?

Single life has taught me how to love myself while being completely alone. Pre-pandemic, we had so many options to fill our time. Now I feel while being single and alone, we really do have to find ways to have a good time being alone.

What are some of the things that you want to accomplish during this season?

I’d like to accomplish being more financially literate as it’s something I’ve struggled with. I’m listening to money podcasts and even started saving more this year than I have in the past! I’d also like to find ways to connect and build a community with other women in real life and not just over the internet.

How do you deal with the frustrations during this season?

I try and remind myself that there are many things to be grateful for. I often forget the little things like, being able to wake up and move my legs and arms. There are many people in the world who would love to do just that.

How do you practice self love?

I practice self love by doing things that challenge me. Waking up earlier when I don’t want to, getting a workout in when I am feeling lazy. It helps me feel productive. I like to go for walks and just get some fresh air while listening to my favorite music.

Make it stand out

How do you handle stress?

When stressing, I try to step back and break down what it is I'm stressing over and what I can do to fix it or alleviate my stress. I won’t always have the answer but as long as I work towards it, I know I will feel better rather than just allowing the stress to take over me and doing nothing about it.

What advice would you give single women?

I would think of it as more of the glass being half full rather than half empty. Being single gives you time to really learn about yourself. Things you like, things you don’t like. How to do things alone and be happy while doing it. That way if the time comes where you meet a partner, you’ll already be so in tune with yourself that you can now enjoy additional company and possible love.
